Southern Honey Butter Cornbread

This cornbread is one of my favorite quick Thanksgiving sides — golden, soft, and just a little sweet. It comes together fast, fills the kitchen with that warm, cozy smell, and tastes like home. Perfect with butter, honey, or next to a bowl of collard greens.

Ingredients
  

  • Cornmeal
  • Flour
  • Sugar
  • Butter
  • Milk
  • Baking powder
  • Salt
  • Egg

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven and grease your skillet or baking pan.
  2. Mix dry ingredients in one bowl.
  3. Mix wet ingredients in another.
  4. Combine gently — don’t overmix.
  5. Bake until golden brown.
  6. Let cool slightly before slicing.
