Method
- In a large pot, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Cook for about 5 minutes until softened.
- Stir in diced tomatoes, beans, tomato sauce, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 30–40 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Adjust seasoning as needed before serving.

- For thicker chili, simmer longer uncovered.
- Add a pinch of cayenne or red pepper flakes for heat.
- Great for freezing — lasts up to 3 months.
