  • 3 ripe bananas mashed
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt

  • Optional ½ cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the bananas and stir in melted butter until smooth.
  3. Mix in sugar, egg, and vanilla extract.
  4. Add baking soda and salt; stir to combine.
  5. Fold in flour just until mixed—do not overmix.
  6. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a rack to cool completely before slicing.
